Hello All,
I'd like to recommend an excellent book about families. In Praise of Our Fathers and Our Mothers: A Black Family Treasury by Outstanding Authors and Artists is a collection of essays, poetry, stories, interviews and illustrations by African American authors and artists, exploring the impact of family on their lives and their work. This wonderful collection, compiled by Cheryl and Wade Hudson, reflects the diversity and strength of the African American family. This is a refreshing departure from some of the stereotypical images of Black families. Faith Ringgold, Brian Pinkney, Pat Cummings, Leo and Diane Dillon, Walter Dean Myers, Eleanora Tate and Virginia Hamilton are among the contributors to this very special book. Joyce Hansen
