October: New Voices in Children's and Young Adult Literature. This month we'll discuss the books of some of the rising stars in the field and hear from publishers about how they seek out new talent. Who are your favorite new voices that have emerged in the past several years?

November: Images of Families in Books for Children and Young Adults. Nuclear. Extended. Single-parent. Two-parent. Biracial. Multiracial. Lesbian & Gay. All of these terms and more lend themselves to a collective understanding the word "family" today. How does literature for children and young adults reflect this diversity? What books provide especially effective, and affecting, portrayals of family life?

December: Favorites of the Year. Each December we invite members of the CCBC-Net community to share their favorite titles published for children and young adults in 2002. From picture books to poetry, novels to non-fiction, it's time to talk about the books you've most appreciated this year.
