Amen to Lee about new or newish poeticvoices. We must be in the "golden age" of new young poets and wonderful collections including Kristine O'Connell George ("Little Dog Poems" "Old Elm Speaks" and others from Clarion) and Janet Wong ("Behind the Wheel" McElderry and other titles that reach well into the young adult psyche) to name two of my favorite recent
"stars." Cheers Jody Shapiro (who will be leaving Australia in late December..kicking and screaming but darn, we have to get back to "real life" one of these days...or do we?) PS I tell teachers who whinge about not having enough time in the day to read aloud to their students that poetry would be the thing...and stop making silly excuses!!! - Oh dear..I better start behaving myself or they won't let me back through immigration control in Los Angeles)
