and his exciting work...and really try to stay kind of quiet out here...but have to add my praises to kathleen's about the extraordinary style and vision of greg christie....i have followed his efforts since he began to publish and...never...have i seen/heard a false note of pretense or posture in anything he has done.....my enthusiasm...and pride...prompt me to do a very early "announcement" of a large collection of jazz and blues poems of mine to be published in the "not-too-distant-future" (haha, the poet laughs into his morning chai)---at simon&schuster...illustrated by greg christie....a 96-page book with all the room for the man to execute and achieve....of course i can hardly wait...and have been waiting: but over the years we have
"waited" years for busy artists such as barry moser and jerry pinkney and the dillons...and patience has always been repaid with the innovative visual excellence which filled our lives....
