I must put in my vote for Susan Heyboer O'Keefe. Her first YA novel, 'My Life And Death by Alexandra Canarsie' was just recently released, and I have to admit I was blown away! The writing is excellent, and you actually get under the main character's skin. Not to mention the mystery that evolves in the plot and prevents you from getting other things done during the day! I couldn't put it down. My web site has a page called "Why Didn't I Think Of That?" listing my favorite books. This one will definitely get added.
