Steven Kellogg, Stuart Murphy, and Karen Cushman will be featured speakers at Marquette University's Children's Literature conference on October 12. This day-long conference, "Yesterday's Classics/Today's Favorites" also includes a celebration of the 60th anniversary of Virginia Lee Burton's THE LITTLE HOUSE. A biography of this well-known illustrator has just been written by Barbara Elleman, who will talk about the research involved in writing the book. An exhibition of Burton's original art, which will open on October 11 for six weeks, will be part of the festivities.
For registration and/or information contact Carol Stachewicz at 414(8s76 or carol.stachewicz at marquette.com
