This has been a wonderful month for remembering Virginia through all the professional and personal memories that were shared. One small way that our Children's Lit Circle in Tallahassee decided to honor Virginia and fight cancer at the same time was to form a team to participate in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. This fund raiser is held across the US and the money collected is earmarked for cancer research. Arnold, Jaime and Leigh gave their blessings for this and we all felt really good about our time together being something positive that came out of the lose we felt. The Florida Reading Association is sponsoring a drive to have teams in all the Relays in Florida in 2003. With the help of FLA & FAME, this certainly seems realistic. We invite you to contact your local ACS and find out about the Relay in your community so you can form your team to walk in Virginia's name. We could expand the goal to have teams in every state in 2003! In Tallahassee, our problem is not if but how many teams we will have. You are limited to 15 people on a team and we already have more than that signed up for next year! That's a good problem! If you would like more information on forming a team or what was involved in setting up and organizing the event, e-mail me. Sharon Hartman
