The Children's Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Awards were announced on Friday 16 August.

I had an article about this year's awards published in the Melbourne Age this weekend. Alas, it doesn't appear to have made it onto their website. However, if anyone is interested in reading it, please contact me and I will be happy to forward it on. Please note, for the record, that I had 1500 words to discuss five categories of awards (with up to six books shortlisted per category) so it's necessarily an overview, rather than a detailed discussion of individual titles.
