I am coming out of lurk-mode to say Hooray for Jaclyn Moriarty. I'm so glad someone mentioned her. I have a short anecdote...

Shortly before reading "Celia" I found out that I had a long lost half-brother
(which is quite a coincidence if you know the novel's story). I was so amazed that I decided to write Ms. Moriarty a fan letter. I just finished my MLS program so I'm new to th e world of books and authors and was therefore delighted when I received a handwritten note back from Ms. Moriarty. It was the first time I ever wrote an author and it couldn't have happened with a nicer author. I now have such fond feelings for Australian writers!
