Children's Poetry Days at Vermont College July 27(
The Vermont College MFA in Writing for Children & Young Adults program features a special event weekend during residencies in July and January. The focus of this summer's event will be poetry.
This weekend will feature lectures and readings by faculty and special guests. Guests editors will include Elizabeth Bicknell of Candlewick Press and Brenda Bowen of Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing.
Guest authors Karen Hesse, Paul Janeczko, and Marilyn Nelson will join faculty Ron Koertge and Sharon Darrow for two inspiring days on writing poetry for children and young adults.
Come hear about the nuances of prose poetry, creating poetry anthologies, and tips from editors. Enjoy readings by authors Karen Hesse, Ron Koertge, and others.
Books by the guests will be on sale and available for signing on Sunday, July 28.
Rooms on campus will be available, and meals will be catered by the New England Culinary Institute.
