Memories of War and Peace: Lessons from Southeast Asia is a five?y workshop June 17! sponsored by the Southeast Asian Studies Program on the UW-Madison campus that includes a morning spent learning about and examining books for children and young adults about Southeast Asia at the CCBC. Participants will attend lectures and panel presentations on Southeast Asian country stories and histories, and be exposed to Southeast Asian performance and culture, including the cuisine of the region. WASL Day at the CCBC will be on Thursday, July 25. Members of the Wisconsin Association of School Librarians are invited to spend the day at the CCBC, where CCBC Librarian Megan Schliesman will highlight some of the noteworthy titles for children and young adults that have been published in 2002, and WASL will hold its annual meeting in the CCBC Elizabeth Burr Conference Room.
