Teachers of children's literature courses in the CCBC community might be interested to know that, to accompany the new third edition of Pleasures of Children's Literature--written this time by me in collaboration with my colleague Mavis Reimer--we've put together a web site that offer resources both for students and for instructors:

http://www.uwinnipeg.ca/~nodelman/resources/

or

http://www.ablongman.com/nodelman3e

The web site includes information about these topics: For students:

Finding Children's Books Finding Out about Children's Literature on the Internet Finding Guides to Children's Literature Criticism Finding Children's Literature Journals

For instructors:

Outlines for Courses Using Pleasures Descriptions of Courses Using Pleasures Descriptions of Classroom Activities and Experiences Descriptions of Writing Assignments E-mail Conferences Tests and Exams Samples of Student Work

Thus far, most of the materials are from my own teaching. But we hope the site will operate as a place where everyone involved in teaching and learning about children's literature can share their ideas. We invite all kinds of contributions, from both students and instructors. We'd also be grateful for any comments, or suggestions about the site.

In addition to the other materials, the site also includes an updated version of the Bibliography of Children's Literature Criticism--an astonishingly vast listing of useful criticism of children's literature published through 2001 organized by topic and by theoretical approach:

Here, too, we'd be grateful for comments and suggestions.

Yours, Perry Nodelman perryn at autobahn.mb.ca http://www.uwinnipeg.ca/~nodelman
