Discuss New Books for Children and Young Adults at monthly CCBC book discussions. All CCBC book discussions are open to any adult interested in reading and discussing new books for children and young adults, including teachers, librarians, and university students and faculty. Individuals wishing to participate should be familiar with at least two books on the discussion list for the month. Discussions will be held in the CCBC's Elizabeth Burr Room from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on the following Fridays: May 3, June 7, July 12, and August 9. Reading lists are posted about one month in advance of each discussion at w.education.wisc.edu/ccbc/up4disc.htm. No registration is required. Call 608&2?03 for more information.
Memories of War and Peace: Lessons from Southeast Asia is a five?y workshop sponsored by the Southeast Asian Studies Program on the UW-Madison campus that includes a morning spent examining books for children and young adults about Southeast Asia at the CCBC. Participants will attend lectures and panel presentations on Southeast Asian country stories and histories, and be exposed to Southeast Asian performance and culture, including the cuisine of the region. Particpants may register for 1 graduate credit or 15 DPI clock hours. For more information, contact Peggy Choy, 608&355
