I loved reading the lists of humorous books mentioned in the past week, yet I still see the need for fresh, funny middle grade readers. I just read a review copy from a new author. Watch for the August publication of Roaring Brook's I Smell Like Ham by Betty Hicks. It???s about the reality of blended families. The dialogue and situations are quick, laugh-out-loud funny, yet the book is one of substance.
Just a head's up, especially for teachers. This is a great read-aloud. Lisa Thalhimer
