Incongruity with a sudden twist at the end of a sentence seem to work well to make me laugh. Like the way Dave Barry puts a sentence together.
The way Junie B. Jones mis-uses adult sounding language has brought me to laughing tears. The scene where Junie B. has drawn a picture of a fallen tree "...JBJ has a peep in her pocket."
Diane Stanley's Sweetness books have such terrific language and the dear adoptive father who is so out of it! We love these books and hope for another!
I am taking lots of notes from this discussion. Thank you.
