I have to add Sid Fleischman to this wonderful list--a writer very much in the Twain tradition who almost cannot NOT be funny. Along with his novels and McBroom books, Fleischman's autobiography, The Abracadabra Kid, overflows with very funny stuff. I love that his work is as accessible and funny to adults as it is to kids.
