On the subject of backmatter...

Who are the readers? Children who read nonfiction for pleasure enjoy the open layout and accessible language in creative nonfiction--they probably have no need for an index, for example, though bibliographical information and authors' notes would allow curious children to find out more about their favorite topic.

Are creative nonfiction books published only for "reports" or are they for enjoyment? The answer to this question plays a role in the layout of the backmatter.
