Mes amies:
I have a rule of thumb when I review: If something seems "fishy"
(placement of a site in the wrong nation, bad citation to quotation, time setting out of kilter, etc., etc.) I check out the bibliography if it has been provided and also do research on the statement. I work on the theory that young people's minds are somewhat less furnished with education and age than mine and my specialties. If a fn is provided it is much easier to cross check the sources to see if there has been misquotation or if the citation exists at all.
Children and many adults often say, "I read it in a book so...." Because I was not raised that way in my home (we discussed--at great length too often), it has been helpful to review and remain skeptical, no matter how famous the author.
