I know there are many reviewers in our midst and I would like to hear from them about this. I do review, but I rarely review nonfiction. I would say, however, that I am always happy to read interesting author's notes historical fiction, even if I secretly suspect that young readers do not read them. I try to recognize helpful and interesting author's notes in my reviews.
I find myself wondering the same thing many of the authors are wondering: who is the audience and just how many sources need to be footnoted or cited?
