The Association of Children's Librarians of Northern California (ACL) presents its 2002 Annual Institute: "Had I But Known, I Would've Had A Clue -- Mystery, Suspense, and Gothic Books for Kids"
Guest Speakers include:
LOIS DUNCAN, author of I Know What You Did Last Summer, Killing Mr. Griffin, Stranger With My Face, and the non-fiction title Who Killed My Daughter?: the True Story of a Mother's Search for Her Daughter's Murderer. Margaret A. Edwards Award, 1991, for body of work.
KATHRYN REISS, author of Paper Quake and The Ghost in the Dollhouse trilogy.Best Books for Young Adults citation 1993, American Library Association for Time Windows.
MARTHA SHOGREN, Storyteller and Librarian Be Afraid. Be Very Afraid of these Ghost Stories.
ANGELICA CARPENTER, Curator of the Arne Nixon Center for the Study of Children's Literature California State University, Fresno. Author of Robert Louis Stevenson: Finding Treasure Island, Frances Hodgson Burnett: Beyond the Secret Garden, and L. Frank Baum: Royal Historian of OZ.
