THE CCBC AMERICAS AWARD DISCUSSION will be held from 5:10-9:10 pm on Wednesday, March 6, in the Elizabeth Burr Room of the CCBC, 4290 Helen C. White Hall, 600 N. Park Street, on the UW-Madison campus. This will provide all interested adults with the opportunity to read and discussion books eligible for the Americas Award, which recognizes the outstanding book for children and young adults portraying Latin America or Latinos in the United States. DISCUSS NEW BOOKS FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS at monthly CCBC book discussions. All CCBC book discussions are open to any adult interested in reading and discussing new books for children and young adults, including teachers, librarians, and university students and faculty. Individuals wishing to participate should be familiar with at least two books on the discussion list for the month. Discussions will be held in the CCBC's Elizabeth Burr Room, 4290 Helen C. White Hall, 600 N. Park Street, on the UW-Madison campus, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on the following Fridays: March 15, April 12, May 3, June 7, July 12, and August 9. Reading lists are posted about one month in advance of each discussion at www.education.wisc.edu/ccbc/up4disc.htm. No registration is required.
CCBC CHOICES 2002 will be presented by Kathleen T. Horning, Ginny Moore Kruse, Megan Schliesman, and Merri V. Lindgren on Saturday, March 9, 2002, at the CCBC. This annual event hosted by the Friends of the CCBC, Inc. is open to Friends members only (individuals may join at the door) and will be held in the Elizabeth Burr Room of the CCBC, 4290 Helen C. White Hall, 600 N. Park Street, on the UW-Madison campus. For more information, call 608&3720.
