Happy February! During this time of announcements, I'd like to let everyone in the CCBC community know about a young adult literature event taking place on April 5th in Central Illinois (East Peoria to be precise) and sponsored by the Alliance Library System, one of twelve regional library systems in Illinois.
This year the Alliance Library System's Literature for Youth Institute will focus on young adult literature and features Will Hobbs and Franny Billingsley. In addition to sessions by these two marvelous authors, we will have a series of break-out sessions presented by Joel Shoemaker
("Picking the Winners: YA Book Lists, Awards and Reviewing), Jane Halsall & Bill Edminster (graphic novels), and the staff from Anderson's Bookshop (new YA books). Please contact me if you would like to receive a brochure about this Institute. Cheers. - Denise
