I'm interested to find out the procedures behind the selection of the notable books list. In Australia, our notable books list is put together by the same people who judge the Children's Book Council award. I note from the ALA website that the names of the Notables committee don't include some people I know were judges. Are just a select number of the judges asked to select the notables, or is it a different committee altogether? If so, how is access to all the eligible books ensured?
