I'm going to briefly interrupt our discussion of the National Book Award nominees and winner to announce the outcomes of the CCBC's Michael L. Printz Award Discussion.

Last night 30 people gathered at the CCBC for this discussion. The group included teachers, librarians and others who work in middle and high schools, and several students in library school.

After several hours of lively discussion, the group voted. Here are the results:

Winner:

FIGHTING RUBEN WOLFE by Markus Zusak (U.S. edition: Arthur A. Levine Books/Scholastic)

Honor Book:

TRUE BELIEVER by Virginia Euwer Wolff (Atheneum, 2001)

A complete list of the books discussed can be found on the CCBC web site at http://www.education.wisc.edu/ccbc/awards/printz.htm
