Two cents about writers from other countries winning US awards. YA writers in the US waited over 25 years for an award to honor distinguish YA writing and now in the two years of its existence one winner (Almond) and two honorees
(Almond and Rennison) have been acknowledged. Hmmm.....

I realize that the award criteria allows for US editions of international titles, but somehow it seems wrong.

I love many International authors and read very frequently of titles from other countries. This is not an "us not them" argument.
