Wow! Thanks, everyone, for sharing your favorites throughout December
!
Thanks, too, to everyone who found time to provide solid reasons for your appreciation.
Betty, we didn't do as well as you had asked us to do in remembering to suggest age-levels or interest levels for the books about which we're enthusiastic. Maybe we can make a collective New Year's resolution to improve our comments in that way.
Katie, you're right: Christopher Myers is the son of Walter Dean Myers.
Discussion matters. That's why award committees are urged to form discussion groups for adults and for kids "back home." Even though we might be holding the same book in our hands - even at the same time we each read a different book. We look forward to the perspective and opinion of each person who steps forward to offer comments during the forthcoming CCBC-Net discussions. We each bring unique experience in reading in one genre or another or with kids of one age or another. Each person's comments are welcome. If you haven't made a comment on CCBC-Net so far, how about resolving to join one of the discussions before long?
Happy New Year !
