Far and away our favorite for the year for YA's is Breathing Underwater by Alex Flinn. Finally a journal format that deals with the male perspective of an abusive relationship...my students are passing my two copies around and I haven't seen them since school started. We're also greatly enjoying the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, although the male/female cross appeal isn't there. It's something for the laughing and the crying girls.
