Traveling Man: The Journey of Ibn Battuta, 132554 written and illustrated by James Rumford ( I love this book. I work with a Tunisian man and he thought it was spectactular as well. This is a story known to many children in Tunisia and he loved reading it in book form. He was especially amazed by the calligraphy and found it astonishing that the author is not a native writer of Arabic.) The Emperor Lays an Egg by Brenda Z. Guiberson, illustrated by Joan Paley
