Those in the publishing world:

Are you primarily expecting teens to pick up these new (or reissued) works of fantasy on their own (e.g. in libraries or bookstores) or are you at all interested in encouraging teachers to use them in their courses?

At the elementary level works of good children's literature are very much promoted for classroom use. Authors do visits to schools, school editions are produced, publishers prepare teacher guides and websites, etc. This may well be less the case for teen books though. I do recall, some years ago picking up a publisher's teaching guide for The Golden Compass at NCTE, so presumably that publisher was hoping it would be used in classrooms.

Is anyone considering a teaching guide for Enchantress to the Stars?
(Sharyn?) Understand, I am not at all a fan of these (or any sort as I think each teacher needs to lead her own discussion as fits the particular proclivities of her particular group of students), but my impression when wandering NCTE and IRA (two large conventions for teachers of English and reading) exhibit halls is that there are many created for a wide range of books, often by the books' publishers themselves.
