I agree with June. J.K. Rowling gets way more credit than she--or her character-?serves. I was one of those "voracious readers" of fantasy in my teens, and remain so as an adult. I loved children's and YA fantasy then and now....
I am disturbed by so many "If you liked HP" or "After you have read HP" lists. I think it is a great discredit to all those great writers she mimics (hmmm...is that a loaded statement....)
I really don't think I would have liked HP if the books had appeared 15 years ago....
