This is a comment about the introduction to the science fiction question, about young people in the 70s not reading fantasy. I am librarian in a K-5 school where there are numerous avid fantasy readers. They go through title after title, series after series. This has nothing to do with Harry Potter--in my ten years at this school, there has always been a large group of voracious fantasy readers. June Locke Belle Sherman School Ithaca, NY
