I agree. I think that it stimatizes the reader who most needs help. Certainly a fourth grader doesn't want to be seen reading something that has a 3rd grade level dot. As librarians for youth, we are supposed to encourage reading and build self-esteem for all young patrons but particularly for those who are stumbling.
