Rukhsanakhan, I teach a motivation lesson using comic books of Superman, Green Hornet, Spider Man, Teen titans, etc. The purpose is to help students see the relationship of heroes of today to heroes of the past such as Beoowulf, Odesseus, Pau;l Bunyan. the students read the comic books and present the story to the class by pantomime , radio show, drama. The transition is made from heroes of today to heroes of the past by comparing the attributes and contrasting the evil qualities of the villains. This is an introductory lesson to generate interest in works that often receive a groan when they are assigned. My students are preparing to teach at the secondary level. Ogle
