You don't need to be humble about it. It's a fine book, with "wide appeal" I said in a review. I took it in to school yesterday to give to a seventh grade teacher looking for a suitable read-aloud. Habibi was an obvious choice but she wanted one with a male protagonist for a variety of reasons. She's already very happy.
