The National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature (NCCIL) will continue to show the original work of Ed Young in the NCCIL gallery in Abilene, Texas, through October 13th. The Young exhibit will travel to the Children's Museum of Manhattan
(NY) from November 3-January 13. Mary Azarian: From A to Z will open at the NCCIL in Abilene on Thursday, November 8th, with the artist in attendance. Please contact me if you are interested in attending the opening events, which will be free of charge. Other NCCIL exhibits: Ezra Jack Keats continues at the Children's Museum of Manhattan through October 18th. The Ezra Jack Keats exhibit will be at the Oceanside Museum of Art in Oceanside, CA, from November 17-January 6. Going Home with David Diaz will also be on exhibit at the Oceanside Museum of Art from November 17-January 6. Diane Stanley: Journeys will be at the Texarkana Arts Center in Texarkana, TX, from November 6-January 12. The NCCIL's David Wiesner and William Joyce exhibits will be at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, WI, from November 10- January 27. Father & Son: Jerry Pinkney/Brian Pinkney can be seen at the Greenville County Museum of Art, Greenville, SC, from October 3-January 6. Kevin Henkes: Lilly and Friends continues at the Public Library of Charlotte/Mecklenburg County in Charlotte, NC, until November 18th. The exhibit will be on exhibit at the Chicago Public Library from December 8?bruary 17. A David Small World can be seen at the Dallas Museum of Art from December 18?bruary 28. If you will be in the Abilene area on October 13th and would like to attend the NCCIL's one?y conference featuring Leonard S. Marcus, Betty Carter and Robert Sabuda, we have places available due to cancellations after our national tragedy and the associated travel difficulties.
