That isn't why I don't read them. I am more than okay with reading a book with disturbing themes or characters. (Tangerine or Tulip Touch to name a few)
I like to be challenged and read beyond genres I'm drawn to. So, I just wanted to say that disturbing can be okay. You don't have to like it for it to be a good (well written anc challenging) read.
