Hello,
I am a new subscriber and I have been following the Robert Cormier discussion with great interest.
I read most of Robert Cormier's books when I was a teenager (between 12, I don't remember exactly when, probably around 13), and that wasn't very long ago since I am only 23 now. I have not reread any of his books as an adult.
I remember being very struck by how powerful The Chocolate War was. I know I read it more than once. I very much identified with Jerry and agreed with the
"don't let the bastards push you around" idea. I also read After the First Death and I am the Cheese, although I don't have as vivid memories of those.
I do, however, have vivid memories of Fade. I was very shocked by this book and after finishing it, I wished I had never read it. I still wish that.
