Ah yes! My memory still functions. I remember our earlier discussions about -Tenderness- in a CCBC moderated listserv conversation. And by going to the website, hitting the Index
(http://www.education.wisc.edu/ccbc/netdex.htm), I could quickly locate the August 1977 file wherein the CCBC community did discuss -Tenderness- along with another title. The URL for that file is: http://ccbc.education.wisc.edu/ccbc-net/aug1997.text
How about starting by looking at what our initial reactions where then? It will be interesting to see if there are any major different reactions to the title almost five years later.
