The title of this novel came through the strongest for me in LaVaughn's realization (and Jolly's, too) that 'True Believers' believe in themselves. Mama always had that strength and she gave it to LaVaughn; LaVaughn was able to give it to Jolly. Maybe in the third novel LaVaughn will give it to Jody!
