What an interesting discussion about color and lack thereof. So--here's a very old story and make of it what you will--or may:
An old woman asked a little boy to help her carry her shopping bag. He did so, with alacrity because he was well mannered and a nice boy, too. When they arrived at the front steps of her tenament, she gave the boy a quarter. (Now you KNOW this is an OLD story.)
"No, ma'am, thank you but I couldn't take it."
"Take it, please. And, what is you name, my boy?"
"Abbie Goldstein."
" You don't look Jewish."
"I'm not. I have enough tstoris being a schvartzer."
============== So--who is what? Does it matter?
And no, I am NOT really a bigot.
