I had the pleasure of interviewing Peter Sis by e-mail last fall when Madlenka was published -- he's such a complex illustrator at the same time that he's able to communicate ideas with such a straight-forward touch. I am always delighted by the little details that he fills his pictures with and the careful craftsmanship that he brings to all his books.
