Marc is always cogent and lucid. (Vote for Marc for President--of the U.S.) In his message to CCBC he made reference to the "American Dream." I would be pleased if he would define it. Some phrases and words: Manifest Destiny, 54_at_ or fight, yellow peril, scab, yellow-dog contract, compassionate conservative, etc., etc. are fairly easy to trace and define. BUT--"American Dream" is written in oil on roiled waters. (During the Whiskey Rebellion I believe it was called "The American Dram")
