#s! This did bug me; BUT, he did clearly identify the sources he got each story from, so that --theoretically-- the reader could track it down.

Marrin's notes were easier to follow, but he actually made repeated gaff's like the one you mention ... comments about feelings that were NOT in the sources he cited.
