CCBC Choices 2001! Hear About & Examine These Books!

There will be several special events during March to feature the books selected for the annual publication "CCBC Choices." Some will take place in Madison, and others will be offered via distance education, or off?mpus in various Wisconsin locations. These events include:

1. "CCBC Choices Day" - Books selected for the publication "CCBC Choices 2001" will be discussed by "Choices" authors Kathleen T. Horning, Ginny Moore Kruse and Megan Schliesman during the morning and afternoon on Saturday, March 10, 2001, in the Elizabeth Burr Room of the CCBC. This annual event and a corresponding luncheon will be hosted by the Friends of the CCBC. All Friends members have received a mailing about this event open only to Friends of the CCBC. You may join at the door and attend one or both sessions. People who join the Friends that day will not be able to attend the luncheon, but new members are more than welcome to come to the annual meeting immediately following lunch; both will be held in the University Club. 2) The annual Children's Book Fest on Tuesday evening, March 13 for the Headwaters Reading Council; and on Wednesday, March 14, 8:00 3:00, for all interested public librarians, school library media specialists, teachers, writers, parents, etc. Location: Holiday Inn in Rhinelander. Co-sponsored by the Rhinelander District Library, the School District of Rhinelander, and the Headwaters Reading Council with the Wisconsin Valley Library Service, Northen Waters Library Service and Indianhead Federated Library System. 3) Annual Workshop on Thursday afternoon, March 15, 10:30 - 3:15, in West Salem, for teachers, public librarians & school library media specialists. 4) Annual Workshop on Tuesday, March 20, 9:30 - 2:30, in Ripon, for public librarians & school library media specialists. Sponsored by the Winnefox Library System. 5) Annual Workshop on Wednesday, March 21, 9:30 - 3:00, for public librarians, school library media specialists & teachers. Location: Appleton Public Library, 225 N. Oneida St., Appleton. 6) Annual Hands-on Book Exhibit (Wed. evening & Thurs. morning) and Speeches (Thurs. morning) during the Wisconsin Educational Media Association (WEMA) spring conference in Green Bay. (Kathleen T.
