The University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Library and Information Studies announces its biennial children's literature conference, The Call of Stories: The Allure of Narrative for Children and Young Adults. The conference will be held in Madison on Thursday and Friday, April 5-6, 2001.
Speakers include Kimberly Willis Holt, Alice McGill, Betsy Hearne, Jim DeVita, S.D. Nelson, Christy Hale, and Margaret Read MacDonald. A sesson will be devoted to discussions of books to be read prior to the conference, and participants will be able to choose two Interest Groups for a more intimate examination of specific topics.
