"Miracle's Boys"

I was happy to see "Miracle's Boys" win this year's Coretta Scott King Award for writing, and I hope others have had the opportunity to read this novel.

In many respects, it reminds me of "The Outsiders" by SE Hinton, in that it features teenage brothers surviving on their own and capably facing a crisis. The narrator's voice also has that quality of innocent wisdom that Hinton's narrator has.

Did anyone else find this connection?
