I'd like to offer two sources I have come to trust for reviews, both critical and good, of literature by and about native americans.
I recognize that this discussion has not been one limited to the indigenous peoples of north america, but I think sharing our own trusted resources is one of the best ways for us to support the reading of not only 'good stories' that get kids to love words, but 'good stories' that teach kids to challenge the stereotypes surrounding them and make their own decisions on what is the truth.
Both catalogs offer materials that are new and old, in print and out of print, and I encourage librarians and educators to buy directly from the organizations mentioned to help support their efforts. Thanks.
