Hello all-Before we move on to Newbery and other awards-I just finished Homeless Bird and felt that this book than any I have read recently--shows
"how it feels to be an artist." Did anyone else notice the thoughts in the end about marriage and, yes, that the house would be a little less neat and yes, she would hold her babies on her lap when she did her needle-work? This felt like an authentic author-comment.
Best wishes, Jeanne Whitehouse Peterson
