Olivia and Click clack moo

Children loved the clean pages of Olivia. They commented on the spare colors. And of course they related to all of her.
Click clack moo had many discussions of what is a typewriter - what was used before computers, and its shortcomings. Some vocabulary needed interpretation - neutral, ultimatum. I know Caldecott is mainly for illustration ( but doesn't it and story have to tie in)
Both were thoroughly enjoyed by grades k and 1 and even the second graders. It also sparked renewed interest in the other 'gold and silver' books Florence McElligott, media Rosendale Elementary
