As a former social worker and present librarian who has worked a lot with kids who remind me of Joey, I loved these books. I recommended them to a special ed teacher (who later told me that he himself has ADD), who has had great success reading them aloud to his students, some of whom have ADD. This teacher has been transfixed by the books for personal as well as professional reasons.
While it would be unwise to generalize from the stories, or to make diagnostic or academic inferences, I believe that they contain a great deal of "truth," as well as engaging stories, and I'd like to see them in the hands of teachers and child care workers, as well as kids.
